Enjoy appetizers and drinks while listening to Steve Lyons, former Red Sox player and television broadcaster, talk about his experiences playing in Boston compared to other places, and what he expects to happen to the team before next season. The discussion will be moderated by Pete Abraham, Boston Globe Red Sox writer.

Food & drinks will be served from 6-7pm, discussion begins at 7pm

Steve Lyons

Steve Lyons played nine seasons in the major leagues with four different teams including four stints in Boston with the Red Sox. Lyons is also a three-time national Emmy award-winning broadcaster. Drafted in the first round by the Red Sox in 1981 out of Oregon State, he is one of only three players to play all nine positions in one game at the major league level. Lyons is currently with NESN as a Red Sox studio analyst.


Peter Abraham

Peter Abraham, a New Bedford native, attended UMass-Amherst while working for the New Bedford Standard-Times. He has since covered the University of Connecticut men's basketball team for the Norwich Bulletin (1986-99), the New York Mets (2005-05) and New York Yankees (2006-09) for The Journal News of White Plains, N.Y., and the Red Sox for the Boston Globe since 2010.
